Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag 9 oz oyster crackers
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment or foil and lightly grease it.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown and granulated sugar until dissolved and bubbling.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda, vanilla extract, and salt. Mixture will foam.
  • Pour caramel over oyster crackers in a large bowl. Stir to coat evenly.
  • Spread onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 40–45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Let cool completely before breaking apart and storing in an airtight container.
