- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment or foil and lightly grease it.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown and granulated sugar until dissolved and bubbling.
Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda, vanilla extract, and salt. Mixture will foam.
Pour caramel over oyster crackers in a large bowl. Stir to coat evenly.
Spread onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 40–45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
