Ingredients

  • 1 15.25 oz box white or vanilla cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup holiday sprinkles red and green
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prep

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup a breeze.

Step 2: Make the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix with a wooden spoon or spatula until a soft dough forms.
  • Gently fold in the holiday sprinkles, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

Step 3: Shape the Cookies

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls with your hands.
  • Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie to allow for spreading.

Step 4: Bake the Cookies

  • Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear soft but will firm up as they cool.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 5: Add Festive Finishing Touches

  • If desired, dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar for an extra festive touch.

Notes

  • Mix It Up: Try red velvet, chocolate, or spice cake mix for a new flavor variation.
  • Don’t Overbake: These cookies are best when slightly underbaked for a soft, chewy texture.
  • Add Flair: Stir in white chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, or dried cranberries for extra holiday pizzazz.
  • Chill the Dough: If your dough feels sticky, refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes before rolling.
