- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 large apple peeled, cored, and diced small
For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 –2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat waffle iron and lightly grease.
In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, beat egg, then stir in milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until just combined.
Fold in diced apples gently.
Spoon batter into waffle iron and cook 3–5 minutes, until golden.
Remove and cool slightly on wire rack.
For glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Dip tops of waffle donuts in glaze and let set before serving.
